Occupational Therapy Service

Occupational therapists work with people of all ages - from birth to the elderly - to help them overcome the effects of temporary or permanent disability and/or physical illness.

The focus is on enabling people to achieve independence in occupations (activities) which are important and essential for daily life, namely: self-care, home-care, education, employment and leisure, in order to lead full and satisfying lives.

Occupational therapists believe that a balance of roles and occupations, provide a sense of satisfaction, that are essential for the promotion and maintenance of health and wellbeing.

Occupational Therapists work in various areas including hospitals, social work and community settings. Paediatric occupational therapists specialise in working with children.
