Walking/Cycling from Ayr Railway Station

1. Walking from Ayr railway station main entrance, exit the station onto station road.
2. Turn left at the roundabout.
3. Continue to the next roundabout and cross over to A713 Castlehill Road.
4. Follow the A713 Castlehill Road to the Bankfield Roundabout.

Cross the A77 and follow the A713 Dalmellington Road footpath to the Ailsa Hospital entrance which is first entrance on the right.

Covered cycle parking is located at rear of Aisla Hospital across from Afton House. Staff secure cycle parking is located:

1. Between Eglinton House and Brunston House near Ayr Hospital exit road; and
2. At rear of Ailsa Hospital next to Afton House

From Ayr rail station walk to the bus stop on Ayr, Burns Statue Square, Near Smith Street and take either Stagecoach West Scotland service 52 or 24 heading towards Dalmellington. Travel by Car from Glasgow (From M8 Junction 19 - approx 37 miles)

Follow M8 motorway towards Greenock. Continue on M8 until junction 22. Leave M8 at junction 22 heading for M77 Kilmarnock. Continue on for approximately 16 miles onto the A77.

Follow A77 to Monkton Lodge roundabout (the sea/Isle of Arran is directly in front of you.)

1. Take exit 1st left - A77 signposted for Ayr . (The sea is now on your right hand side and parrallel to teh road).
2. Drive to the next roundabout (whitletts Roundabout) take 2nd exit (A77).
3. Drive to the next roundabout (Holmston Roundabout) take 2nd exit A77.
4. Drive to the next roundabout exit 1st left onto Dalmellington Road A713 signposted for Dalmellington.
5. Take 1st available right turn from A713 signposted Ailsa Hospital. Please note that car parking at Ailsa Hospital is limited. 

Car Parking

Relatives and visitors are welcome to use the Aisla Hospital car park. Spaces are limited and we would ask you not to bring your car to the hospital for the duration of your stay. 

Please do not leave any items lying visible in your car and ensure that your car is well secured.
